I have been in numerous conversations with Christians over the past month and I find it intersting that very few take Jesus seriously-- even I have a hard time believing that Jesus' methods truly change the world. His method of nonviolence, his words about martyrdom, his ideas about abandoning self. Romero did believe, and he caused great change. So did the likes of Bonhoeffer, Barth and many others.
